Hello Sista! and all my fellow blogger buds! It has been so long since I have even thought to get on this thing-a-majigie. The Mad-Hatter just sent me a comment saying how much fun blogging is and that I need to start it up again sooo HERE I AM. Ask and you shall receieve. I can't believe a year has gone by since my last post, and how much life has been lived since then. There are so many stories and pictures to share. Since it has been a while since my last post, I am just going to quickly up date you all just in case your out of the loop with where we are in our life right now. Tyler and I have been soaking up school this past year at Dixie State Collage, Whoot! Whoo! Go Rebels! Wait, I mean Red Storm! (lame) Tyler works at the Hospital in the wound clinic, he has been working there for just over a year and loves every minute of it. Don't ask me why, he comes home with thee NASTIEST stories. As for me, I am still livin it up over at the O.G-izzie bar tending. I have been working there for about two years and it has been a great job while going to school. That's my quick update. I know it's not too exciting but we have been able to do some fun stuff along the way and I am hoping to be able to start sharing some of our life with you all again.

It has been exactly a week since Tyler's back surgery. The first couple day's were really hard for him to get himself out of bed and around the house but now he has worked up to walking a few blocks around the neighborhood every day. His back pain is very minimal now, mainly pain where the incision was so that's super exciting. I know Tyler is very anxious to be back to his normal self but is happy that after 4 years of severe back pain this surgery is finally done and over with. We just wanted to thank everyone for all of the calls of concern and keep you posted on his progress. Love you all and thanks for everything.

New Year's Eve was such a good time! We decided a few months ago that we were going to go to Springdale because Sean said his band was going to play and we knew right away that it was going to be off the charts. So I talked to my friend Breck who's dad is part owners in one of the hotels in Springdale and he hooked us up with 3 rooms for $39 each... can't get any better then that. That night we ate dinner at Oscars, rocked out with the band until 1 or 2a.m. and then went hot tubing the rest of the night with the band and all of our friends. You couldn't even plan a better night.

Last night we went to my aunts house for a "Obama-Rama" party where everyone was wearing there "I voted" stickers while we sat around the t.v. watching history in the making. I feel that Obama's speech gave Americans hope and was so inspiring. Our country has come so far for us to be able to have a black man become president, its incredible. I truly believe he will be a great leader of our country and will lead us in the right direction to get us out of this hole that we have dug for ourselves. For those of you who didn't watch his speech I hope you will.I have to quote some of my favorite parts of his speech...

Obama: The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as president. We carved pumpkins thursday night with the Kennett's, ate hot dogs and handed out candy with the Keenan's on friday and Saturday we dressed up and went to a Halloween party. My favorite part of riding the 4 wheelers was when we went on the beach and rode into flocks of birds that are standing on the coast line. I am sure they weren't happy about it but we were having a hay day.

We were so lucky to have my grandparents in Mexico while we were there. We couldn't get enough of them.

We couldn't help but take a ton of pictures of my grandparents new place in Santo Tomas since it was our first time staying there. I was was just mesmerized by the colors, creativity and the attention to detail. Can you believe my Grandmother designed the whole beach house by herself? She spent 4 months in Mexico so that everything was done correctly while my grandpa was working on his project in Kanab. Isn't she incredible? I freaking worship her!

Back again in Mexico! It has been two years since we went to Mexico and it was time for us to hit the high road and go again. When I say hit the road I mean literally, we woke up at 3a.m. made coffee and were on the road for 14 hours straight... not the funnest way to spend your day but once you there its worth it. We spent our first couple days in Mexico at my grandparents condo in Puerto Penasco doing all the tourist stuff and just soaking up the culture (forgot to take pics) and also spent a day at the Mayan Palace

Home Made Skim Boards

Tyler and I are staying at my parents house this week to take care of Myles and McLane while my parents are in New York doing the church history tour. Its going to be fun to spend some good quality time with my little bro's. Myles birthday is this week so I have been trying to think of something fun for us to do, he says that he wants to set up tents in our back yard and have a camp out with a fire, hot dogs and smores... "we will see" is what I have been telling him (oh the imagination of little kids). I was checking my email this morning and once I got done I decided to take a look at the pictures on my moms computer and ran across some pictures from this summer that I never posted. So here it goes...

In August Ty and I helped the kids make skim boards. Well, Tyler did the making of the skim boards and I just helped out with the painting. It was about a week project and it was such a blast because everyone wanted to be involved. My family was going through a tragidy at the time and this was the perfect way for us to all do something together and get our mind off of it.

Aren't they Killer? Tyler made 9 boards that week so that every kid could have one... including us. Your awesome babe!

So the past couple days I have been trying to think about what Ty and I should be for Halloween and all I draw is blanks.... If you have any cheep suggestions let me know because we are supposedly going to some fun party in a cave that our friends family owns. Its always fun to do something together and if we can't figure something out Tyler will probably wear the COW.

Our little Place

Wow where to begin? It has been so long since I have blogged and so much has happened. Well, how about I start with telling you about our new place! It's the cutest little old brick yellow house right off of Main Street with a large back yard for dax to wonder in, and the best part about it is that we have a deck for barbecuing. yay! I wanted to take some pictures of the inside but we are still unpacking so I will get those on here later. I know it sound kind of weird but I am so excited to have a place that we can actually take care of and that feels like home... unlike some of the places we have lived.

Tyler has been taking the EMT course for the past month so he can get one step closer to get on structure fire. I am so proud of him. He goes 2 nights a week and this weekend he is doing a ride along on the ambulance during the marathon so that should be exciting for him. As for me I am just livin it up at good ol Olive Garden and have been busy making rugs out of old t-shirts during my free time. We just got back from Mexico on Sunday and had the time of our lives kickin it with my grandparents.

Can't believe it's been exactly a month since my last post.

We went on a Picnic with the Kennett family last weekend in the Pine Valley mountains and had such a fun time with everyone. Amber and Maylee were in town so it was perfect to all get together and do something out side.

Tyler and Kasey were fully entertained building the fire the whole time (nothing new for ty) and Mom and Dad were lovin on the smores once the fire got going.

This year at Snowbird we didn't get to stay as long as we were hoping because I was starting a new job and Tyler was in the middle of changing jobs as well but we still had tons of fun with everyone and it was so refreshing to be in the mountains.One of the high lights of the trip was that my grandparents were there and we haven't seen them for quit sometime. It was so much fun catching up with them, hearing about all of there travels and being goofy with grandpa as always. When I was little I use to tell all of my friends that my grandpa could burp so loud that the house would shake and I was so proud. haha He is such a goof ball. Ty had such a good time chillin with Gramp's all weekend and soaking in all of his knowledge

Michelle and Scott invited us all to the Bit & Spur in Spring dale last weekend to rock out with some of our fam and friends. My family has had some trauma this past week so we were all in need of a fun night out. We got to Spring dale about 10p.m., tried to eat dinner before the show but that didn't happen and then went and danced our hearts out the rest of the night. I love going to a place where people actually dance! We are going to be hitting up The Bit and Spur more often because the people there are so down to earth and just there to have a good ol' fashioned time. THAT'S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!

Hello ALL! Its been a while since I have up dated our blog so it is going to be a picture over load the next couple of days. The weekend before we moved back down to St. George Tyler drove home to surprise me so we could spend our last weekend "living" in Salt Lake together. One night we went to the BEE'S game to cheer on our local baseball team, and I had been dieing to take Tyler to the farmers market so Saturday morning we woke up early and enjoyed walking around pioneer park with freshly squeezed drinks and listening to live music.
Poor little Daxey had to hide by my legs most of the morning because people would not stop trying to grab at him...but that obviously didn't last too long. So spoiled.

Ty & Smokey I hope you all had a happy 4th! Tyler was in the Laverkin parade with his fire crew on Friday and then that night he helped set up the park fireworks and watched them from the top of his engine... he had such a fun day.

As for me I was sick with the stomach flew most of the weekend so I didn't have a splended 4th, but luckly my good old friend Karamea invited me to her family get together and we got to catch up. It was nice to get ready and out of the house. I can't believe it has been almost 3 years since I have last seen you Mea, lets not let that happen again.

Tylers SURPRISE ATTACK

About a month ago I drove down to Richfield for Mclanes track meet. When I got to the meet the first thing my family said was "you should come the rest of the way to St. George and surprise Tyler" I thought about it for a few minutes while listening to my little brothers say "come on, Come on, come On, Come On" and I was in. Myles insisted on driving with me the rest of the way down to St. George so we could plan out the SURPRISE ATTACK. It was so funny because when we were about to get into my car Myles yells back to McLane in that singing voice that every child does when they are trying to rub something in your face (na, na, na, na, na, na) "You have to listen to country music and you hate it" because McLane was driving down with my parents... I thought it was hilarious. So on the drive down to St. George Myles and I plan the surprise, we decided to get as many water balloons as we could possibly fill up before Tyler got off work and then have everyone hide in my parents court yard and bomb Tyler. While driving I call Ty and tell him that I am on my way back to Salt lake and tell him all about the meet and that I gave my mom a surprise gift to give to him that he needs to hurry and pick up before one of our nephews opens it and luckily he agreed.
Once we got to St. George we raced to Harmon's and grabbed the balloons, told the whole family our plan and got them all excited about the big surprise attack and then filled up all 300 balloons with water. As usual Tyler called me right when he got off work so we knew exactly when to get into position. My whole family crowded into the court yard, hiding behind pillars and whatever they could find and I hid behind the court yard wall. Tyler walks up the steps, opens the gate to the court yard and sees a big bag (full of balloons) with a note on it saying "For Tyler - Open NOW!" and as soon as everyone saw him reaching for it they BOMBED him with balloons and dad got out the hose. After what seemed like forever I pop my head up from behind the wall and just start chucking balloons as fast as I can (like that seen in ELF).
Well Tyler was for sure surprised to walk right into a water balloon massacre but even more surprised to see me throwing balloons like mad. Once all the balloons were popped we all jumped in my parents pool and swam the rest of the night. It was such a fun time. Thanks mom for letting us make a mess of your court yard, you know it was worth it. :)

Concert? Yes please!

Last month my Aunt Chell & Uncle Abe called me to see if I wanted to go to the Brett Dennen & Mason Jennings concert up here in SL and of course I was right on board! So they left there spouses at home and drove up from St. George to my home grounds, we put on our home made Barack Obama t-shirts, ate at a delicous Vietnamese Restraunt and then we were off to the main event. Once we got to the concert we immediatly ordered our drinks and listened to the opening act Missy Higgins, what an amazingly tallented singer/piano player from Australia. I loved her. After Missy sang everyone was crowding to the front of the stage for Brett and Mason so we kept looking at each other saying "stand your ground" because people at concerts have 1 goal in mind and that is to get to the front of the stage no matter how annoying they have to be, they will push and shove until they are right where they want to be.... I am sure my fellow concert goers know what I am talking about. Brett Dennen was so awesome live, he was having such a fun time with the crowd and drinking champagne the whole time. About 3 quarters of the way threw the concert I look back and Abe had taken off his shirt, right behind me rubbing his sweat all over me while singing and dancing, it was so sick. If you don't know my Uncle Abe, he is a caricature in himself, a total granola, doesn't wear deodorant, has nappy long hair that goes half way down his back and when your with him you just can't help but laugh.
Even though I had to shower immediatly when I got home around 2a.m. I had such a fun night out on the town. Thanks guys for inviting me! Lets do it again some other time.

Clint and Heidi have been living in London for a whole year now, crazy how time flies. It doesn't seem that long ago that they were living in Wisconsin and we were trying to plan a trip to go out and see them (Snowbird 06'). They just moved to a new town called Old Amersham and there house dates back to the age of Elizabeth (1550-1600), so sweet. My grandparents visited a few weeks ago so there in some of the pics too. Clint & Heidi are going to be in Utah from the end of July until August 9th... I'm hoping there going to be able to hit up the family reunion at "the Bird!" this year. We love you & miss you guys & can't wait to see you!

Girls Trip!

Growing up my mom would always plan a girls trip to Vegas and the past couple years I haven't been able to make it so I was so excited when I found out my mom had made plans for us to see "The Phantom of the Opera" in Vegas and I was able to go. We had such a fun time chatting, going to a really nice dinner and then watching the INCREDIBLE show. You sit down and there is this GIANT chandelier above you and the theater is custom made just for the Phantom of the Opera, it was amazing. Thanks MOM!

Kennett & Small's

{They all call each other by there last name and I think its hilarious}

Its been exactly 1 Month since Tyler a.k.a. "Kennett" started Fire. This Fire season has kind of started up slow but Tyler is having allot of fun with all his old buddies getting prepared and physically ready for when the Fire season takes off. They have been at the park doing drills, prepping there engines, going to classes, getting the gear together, working out and all kinds of manly stuff... I have to admit I get a little excited when I hear about it, if you know what I mean ;) There is nothing better then a manly man, YEAH BABY. I need to talk Tyler into making me a "Fire" Calender for at least the next six months he's gone. What do you think? sounds like a good idea huh. It has been really hard for us being apart but it seems like we cherish the moments when we are together allot more then when you see each other every day, that's what makes this all worth it and the money is a definite plus. 1 Month Down 6 More to Go!

My Mother has been sharing some of her jewelry with me lately which has been so incredible and I have been wearing it non-stop (who could really pass up the REAL stuff or any kind of jewelry in general). The last time she went threw her jewelry with me I mentioned something about her Dragonfly pendant and she immediately found it and gave it to me... I almost started crying. Out of all the jewelry my mother has worn this piece always comes to mind when I think of my mom since she wore it quite often when I was living at home and the fact that she gave it to me is even more amazing because I have always loved it so much. I don't think she will ever know how much this simple piece of jewelry will mean to me, words can not explain. I loVE, LovE, LOVE IT.

A week from today was our 2 year anniversary! Crazy how time flies. We had such a good day... it started out with me getting my hair highlighted and then coming home to the most beautiful flowers, after I was done ewwing and ahhing over my flowers we went to "Bear Paw" and had some yummy breakfast while talking about the day we got married. When we were done with breakfast we got in the car and drove to the mountains for some champagne and romance time. After our relaxing trip to the mountains we went to "Samari 21" for dinner and had an amazing meal with the goofiest cook, then went to the Kennett's and fell asleep while watching "Tombstone" Tyler's all time favorite movie. We hardly ever i mean EVER go out to dinner let alone breakfast so it was such a fun day because it seemed like we were dating again, plus we were all giddy since it had been a little over two weeks since we had seen each other and on top of that it was our 2 year anniversary. Well I just want to tell MY HUSBAND that he is the most amazing person I have ever known and I feel so lucky to have snatched him up. The past 2 years have been the best years of my life, I LOVE YOU BABE. Thanks for a nice and relaxing anniversary.

My Uncle Abe gave us this art while he was staying at our house. We are some of his biggest fans! This piece of art is made from "wood block" and how he does it is carve into a few different pieces of wood and then stamps them on a piece of paper... amazing isn't it? We just love how funky and original his style is. Love you Abe! Thanks so much for all the art you have given to us. I can't wait to frame and hang it on the wall.

Ogden Marathon

Kyler was so happy to see his Grandma, she picked him right up after running threw the finish line (don't ask me how) and he didn't want to let her go. Who knows how many Marathon's my mom has actually ran, (at least 4-5 a year I think) but it's so amazing. I hope to maybe run a half marathon with her someday. I just wish I had the motivation to run like her all the time... I'll stick to palates for now. Prop's to all those Marathon runners out there!KooperMy Mom gave Kyler her ipod while she showered and packed her things, he loved it. I had one ear piece and he had the other, we were jamin to some good tunes while waiting.

Cheering for Grandma!

My mom ran the Ogden Marathon this past weekend. This year she has been dedicating each of her Marathons to one of her kids and this one was for ME. She had me make a C.D. of some of my favorite songs so that she could listen to them on her ipod and think of me while she ran. What a sweetheart huh? I just love her so much. I am so proud to have her as my mom, she has accomplished so much and is the most caring person I know. I love you MOM.

We tried to cram as many activities into one weekend (well I tried haha) before Tyler left for Fire so we went to Snowbird a.k.a. "The Bird" one day & had such a good time taking it easy and enjoying each other in the nice sunny weather. Can you believe we already miss riding every day? Its only been a month since we were tarring it up at P.C.... Six more months until next season. Hooray!

Doug and Rori gave us the passes. Aren't they the best employer's ever? We love you guys!

Trip to the Park

Another activity we did was hang out at the Park... Dax Love's the park and we wanted to do something fun for him before Ty left to San Jorge. We got some good reading in and some wonderful sun bathing. After chillin at the Park for a few hours we went and saw "What happens in Vegas," if you haven't seen it yet you have to go cause its Hilarious! Oh and we saw "Baby Mama" the weekend before and we laughed our asses off... Amy Poehler is my all time Fav girl comedian! I recommend seeing both.

My Green bags!

I have been wanting to buy some of my own "Green Bags" for a while and today I finally did it. I bought 5 for 5 at Harmon's and had a whole cart full of groceries and they only ended up using 3 of them! Crazy huh? Why bring your own bag you say? Because it is something we can all do to make a positive impact on the environment. Only 1% of all plastic bags are recycled each year and can take up to 1,000 years to degrade. Each reusable bag has the potential to eliminate an average of 1,000 plastic bags over it's lifetime... That's why! So I am going to keep these in my car at all times so I will NEVER forget them. Lets all do our part!

We just found out that Tyler starts fire in St. George May 12th... we have been waiting for almost a month now for this great news & now its such a relief for us knowing that he got the job. This will be his second year fighting fire for the St. George BLM. I am starting to get kind of sad because not only is my husband leaving for 5-7months but also my best friend... I LOVE YOU BABE. The one thing that makes everything OK for us being so distant from eachother is that we finally have some kind of career plan for Tyler now. The plan as of right now is that he will do fire on the BLM for this summer/fall and then hopefully (if all works out) he will start school in the Winter to get his EMT and also teach snowboarding while going to school. Then by next summer try to get on Structure fire up here in Salt Lake. This will be the perfect career path for Tyler because he will be able to fight fire in the summer & then be a snowboard bumb as much as he wants in the winter. What a life huh? I am so proud of him and I am already looking forward to the day he comes home. We are really excited because we get to see all of our friends and family down in St. George allot more this summer then we did last. Hope to see you all soon!

It was so fun going to the Aquarium on Friday, Chillin with everyone & helping with the sprinklers out in Vernal at Amber & Camm's. Flying Kites

We went to St. George to visit our families a few weekends ago & Saturday was the most perfect day to hang out by the pool & Fly Kites. I think that was the first time this year that we have actually been able to be outside without a jacket or a sweatshirt.

Myles bought a $1.00 mouse with some of the neighborhood kids using his allowance and my mom gave them all icecream buckets to carry them around in... it was the funniest thing seeing them all walking around the park with a icream bucket & a mouse inside.

All winter we have been talking about getting BIKES FOR THE SUMMER to ride around town & in the mountains as kind of a Christmas gift for ourselves since we didn't really have the money to buy anything for Christmas this past year. So last weekend we did a search on the Internet and pulled up all the bike shop's in our area, mapped them out and then went to check them all out for information on types of biking, deals, what sizes we needed etc. The first shop we went to the guy that worked there was AMAZING he wasn't pressuring us and gave us all the information we needed to find the perfect bikes for our search. (We will be coming back to buy gear from him for sure) The only bad thing was it seemed like every shop we went into the bikes started at $700 a piece and then went up from there, so we were getting really bummed and disappointed at each shop we went to but didn't really want to go to Wal-Mart and buy dinky bikes because we really want to get into THE SPORT OF BIKING. Finally the last bike shop we went to we found two really nice bikes for a decent price but still close to $300 a piece but figured if we are going to be riding them allot we might as well get nice ones so that we wont have to buy new ones a few years down the road. Anyways, we were really excited about these bikes but for some reason I had a FEELING WE SHOULD WAIT and not rush into anything too fast since we just started looking. The next day I get to work and start talking to Rori (my employer) about how we finally started looking for bikes and how excited we are because we think we found the right ones for us bla bla bla bla. Then the next day after that I come to work and Doug (my other employer) says "So Rori told me your looking for bikes?" and not knowing what he's getting at I go off on the bikes we found and how excited we are and so on. After I am done talking his ear off he tells me that he might have some BIKES FROM A FORECLOSURE he got a while back that we might be interested in.... crazy how I wanted to wait??? So that night we met up with Doug at his office to take a look at "THE BIKES" & they were EXACTLY what we wanted, the perfect size and everything and he gave them to us for FREE! We can't even believe it! It feels like a dream. Now we have money saved & bikes that are over a "G" a piece! WE ARE SO LUCKY & SO GRATEFUL! We have been singing "I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it NOW!" for day's because it's been snowing & rainy ever since we got them. haha

Everyone stayed at our house Saturday night so we could wake up early Sunday morning to race down to Brian Head and get in a full day of Snowboarding. Thanks to Audrey, she hooked us all up with free passes.It was such a nice day! Overcast & hardly anyone was out so we basically had the whole mountain to our self's. Other then Macy fell on a rale and took a big chunk out of her leg... but hey that's what you get when you try to show off.
We ate peanute butter & jelly sammies on the lift so we didn't have to waste time stopping to eat. After the resort was closed we did a quick visit to a few old friends in Cedar, ate some yummy Mexican food and then we were back on the road to S.L.C.

End of the Season Party

Sooo many instructors work at Park Citites resort and Tyler got awarded the biggest award of all "Instructor of the YEAR!" .......That's my man.

Audrey and Tyler have known each other for a long time, they lived down the street from each other out in Washington fields, worked up at Brianhead together & Audrey is the one who put in a good word for Tyler up at P.C. and he got right in. WE LOVE YOU AUDREY!
The party was a blast! First they gave out awards, then we ate some delicous food and drinks, once we were done eating and socializing it was time for some dancing... we had such a good time with all our friends and we are so sad the seasons almost over.

We just love the history up there especially because all the old buildings are so fun to look at and the atmosphere is so inviting. It such a great place to get away from all the hussle and bussle of every day life.… must be all the fresh air.

We have been packing all of our stuff for weeks and finally moved back to Sandy on Monday. Monday was a really long day for the two of us but we got threw it & luckily we have a hot tub at the new place so we can sit in it the rest of the week. We are so excited to be back in Sandy, close to the mountains and all of our friends.

Tyler had to work on Easter so I went to Mike & Laura's to see what the Easter bunny brought Kyler & Kooper. It was the first year Kyler understood what the Easter bunny was so it was really fun seeing him so excited. We colored easter eggs & wrote on the cement with Ky's new chalk. Grandma came to visit as fast as she could, she couldn't stand not seeing her new grand baby. While laura was in the Hospital my mom took Kyler to St. George so Mike & Laura could have a little break and just focus on Kooper.
Somer has been such a big help for Mike & Laura threw the pregnancy. While we were at the hospital Aurora told Somer that she wants a new baby... Somer is in the process of adopting & we pray that everything will go smoothly for her and Dan. One big happy family!

He does everything with us: Camping, Washes the car, Goes to the store, Fishing, Vacations, Watches T.V. and sleeps with us .
Can't believe we have had Dax for 3 years now.

Dax is the cuddliest dog you will ever know. If you have a blanket he is right there squirming his way in, like a little Mole. It takes him a little while to get use to new people but once he does he wont even come to us unless we say "Wanna Treat." He also loves his grandparents... because they spoil him rotten!

For some odd reason we don't just call him "Dax" (unless he's in trouble) he has many names depending on our mood... Mousie, Mexican wolf rat, Floppy Ear, Silver Fox, Wolfie etc.

Tyler was born Tuesday February 19th at 1:38am he weighed 9lbs 6oz and was the cutest baby ever (Thanks to Mom & Dad). Vickie always had him and all the boys dressed up in little suits & bow ties... I love it!

Tuesday Tyler had to work but we brought all of our stuff up to stay the night in Park City so we didn't have to drive back down the mountain once we were done playing. Tyler got off work around 3pm, we went to the corner store for a few hours, then out to eat, after that we drove to a friends house for some singing and cake & then off to the karaoke bar we went. We had such a good time other then Tyler didn't get a chance to sing Bohemian Rhapsody before we left... bummer huh? Oh well next time!
